During the years when I worked exclusively with grieving and traumatized children, I started collecting photographs of beautiful things. I did this to counter the heartache and sometimes ugliness I witnessed daily in the children’s stories. The only criterion for “beautiful” was that it gave me joy.
Since that time, I have continued to hone my photography skills. Inspired by Valerie Isenhower, who teaches photography as a spiritual practice, I have come to understand and appreciate each photograph as a gift received rather than an image captured. In that spirit, I would like to share my gifts with you.
